PROJECT OVERVIEW

A challenging subdivision project on a site with over 30% topography in the Blue Mountains, requiring a sophisticated architectural response to manage significant level changes while delivering premium residential outcomes. The proposal delivers three four-bedroom, two-storey residences with generous living areas and optimal spatial flow — each dwelling stepping into and responding to the natural landscape rather than fighting it.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

The residences adopt a contemporary two-storey language — dark-toned cladding and batten screens set against a natural bushland backdrop. The stepped site planning means each dwelling occupies a distinct terrace level, ensuring privacy between neighbours and maximising outlook for every home. The facades feature strong horizontal eaves and large glazed openings oriented to capture light and views, with covered outdoor areas at each level that connect the interior directly to the landscape. The materiality — dark metal, rendered masonry and timber — is robust enough to suit the Blue Mountains climate while achieving a high architectural standard.
